What is Browser-App
Browser-App is presented as a web application meant to improve online shopping. In reality, it is an unwanted browser extension developed to earn money by advertising various content. Usually, this content includes coupons, offers, and product comparisons for different retail websites like Amazon or Aliexpress. Nobody can argue that being able to save on online shopping is a good thing, however, Browser-App may work with untrustworthy networks that deliver unwanted content. For example, shopping banners can be chained with other links leading to suspicious or potentially dangerous resources. When you click on them, Browser-App might redirect you through multiple pages suspected of fishy behavior. Not to mention that Browser-App is compatible with popular browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Since it configures your browser settings to insert additional ads, there is a threat of data surveillance. Applications like Browser-App are considered to be hijackers, which tend to collect personal data for revenue gains. Be careful and do not trust such extensions, especially if they appeared without your consent. To delete Browser-App, follow our step-by-step guide presented below.
How Browser-App infected your computer
Web instruments and other potentially unwanted tools are usually distributed with other kinds of software. Usually, these kinds are pirated or cracked programs shared on freeware resources. Developers that create repacked software tend to add additional programs marked as promotional offers. Users do not pay enough attention whilst installing the downloaded program. They do not spot that there are “Advanced/Custom” sections that contain such offers. Even if they do, some ignore or agree with the installation of software. Browser-App is a low-risk threat, however, it may lead to privacy threats over some time. To prevent such threats from infecting your system, try to avoid installing untrustworthy and unofficial software. If you are unable to do it, at least be more attentive and cautious whilst running third-party installations. Always remember the information we mentioned above.
