What is Coupon Search

If you spotted that your browser interface and search engine have been modified, then these are the symptoms of Coupon Search. Programs that alter browser settings are categorized as browser hijackers and usually infiltrate systems without the user’s consent. Once penetrated, the application adds its extension to a browser and requires access to making changes. Coupon Search provides both coupons and web search options. It modifies the browser’s search and homepage settings to searchforcoupons-serp.org and installs Coupon Search extension. Simply by typing the keyword into the searching box, people get multiple coupons that can save a lot of money on online shopping. In addition, the program has a pretty user-friendly design that allows extortionists to fall into the trust of people. Unfortunately, the activity of Coupon Search is fake and leads to various privacy issues because cybercriminals tend to record sensitive data (passwords, credentials, IP-addresses, geolocations, etc.) and sell it to third-parties figures. Therefore, it is recommended to remove Coupon Search or any similar programs from your computer to prevent data-tracking and other suspicious actions.

How Coupon Search infected your computer

Traditionally, potentially unwanted programs like browser hijackers use both methods of infiltration – bundling and fake software updaters. Bundling means injecting third-parties software alongside ostensibly legitimate set-ups. Usually, these are the repacks that are infected with adware or browser hijackers. Unfortunately, this does not stop users because they rush till the end of the setup missing additional sections like “Advanced” or “Custom”. Therefore, we ask you to be more attentive when downloading and installing software from public resources that are scattered around the web. Another trick that hooks inexperienced users is fake software updaters. This fake software is usually disguised as Adobe Flash Player that is promoted via dubious ads or links. Developers create highlighted headings that claim your software to be outdated and require the upgrade. When downloaded, users get potentially unwanted applications or other malware instead of promised updates. To get rid of Coupon Search and restore safe activity, please follow the guide below.
