or a similar message for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, it means your Mac is infected with MyCouponSmart adware. This article aims to help you with the removal of this malware.

MyCouponSmart is browser adware that is meant to save money while online shopping via discount coupons. It provides a wide database of different coupons that can be applied to various shopping platforms like Amazon, Aliexpress, and so forth. While its main purpose comes down to making online shopping better, the actual activity contradicts this promise largely. When installed on a computer, it literally subjugates browsers like Safari, Chrome and other Mac-supported browsers to serve advertisements that disrupt the browsing. On top of that, the app gets deeply entrenched into the device to prevent users from manual removal. Besides altering the browser interface, it also changes the settings so that users could not reset them. Ads promoted by MyCouponSmart can come in various forms and shapes. Spanning from typical advertisements to obtrusive pop-ups. One of the biggest jeopardy that users might not be aware of is data tracking. Alongside “useful tools” it stealthily tracks and gathers the information that is accumulated whilst browsing (passwords, browsing history, etc.) and therefore delivered to third-parties for revenue purposes. MyCouponSmart and other similar clones like MyShopBot, Easy Shopper, MyWebEnhancer, and MyShopCoupon have to be dodged in order to secure yourself from privacy threats that can make an adverse effect on your identity. This is why we have prepared a set of tools that can help you remove this application from your computer.

How MyCouponSmart infected your computer

This malicious application is spread in a sneaky fashion. It can be bundled alongside other questionable software that is downloaded from suspicious pages. For instance, when users download any cracked program, it may contain potentially unwanted applications like MyCouponSmart behind the main installation. Developers hide their software in “Advanced/Custom” sections. Because users usually opt for skipping this monotonous process, they rush till the end of the installation not checking whether anything else can be delivered along the way. Thereby, the tricky application creeps through the system leaving users puzzled on how could it get on their device. In addition to this, MyCouponSmart could infiltrate your computer by allowing fake push notifications and other malvertising resources that extortionists tend to abuse. You can remove this app from your computer either manually or with the help of some utility. Both methods are presented in the section below.
