What is TechBoost

TechBoost is a type of adware specifically targeting macOS users, known for inundating devices with intrusive advertisements. This malicious software often manifests as pop-ups, banners, and deceptive alerts that can lead users to unsafe websites, including phishing pages designed to steal sensitive information. Beyond disrupting user experience, TechBoost can collect personal data such as browsing history and financial information, posing significant privacy risks. Multiple security vendors classify TechBoost as harmful, making it imperative for users to avoid its installation and promptly remove it if detected. Common distribution methods include bundling with free software, deceptive ads, and downloads from untrustworthy sources. How TechBoost infects Mac computers

TechBoost typically infects Mac systems through deceptive practices such as software bundling and the exploitation of unreliable download sources. Additionally, TechBoost can be delivered via malicious ads and pop-ups on dubious websites, enticing users to click on links that initiate the download. Once installed, it bombards users with intrusive advertisements and can modify browser settings without consent, leading to further exposure to online scams and phishing attempts.
